Coorg

Known as the “Scotland of India”, Coorg is a captivating corner of Karnataka where misty hills, dense forests and coffee plantations create an atmosphere of quiet seclusion. The landscape is beautifully green, particularly during the monsoon, with winding roads passing through estates scented with coffee, cardamom and pepper.
Coorg is also home to the Kodava people, a distinctive community with their own traditions, cuisine and fascinating history. A visit to a coffee estate offers an opportunity to discover the journey from blossom to bean, meet growers and enjoy the remarkable hospitality for which the region is known. Elsewhere, explore forest trails, seek out birdlife and wildlife, or simply pause to enjoy the views from a beautifully situated plantation retreat.
For the discerning traveller, Coorg is less about a list of sights and more about time spent in the landscape — lingering over freshly brewed coffee, walking beneath towering trees and experiencing the gentle rhythm of life in Karnataka’s highlands.
